Well, first let us know your information. You can download a sign up form or e-mail your information to info@rednoseresponse.org and our Membership Director will contact you and add you to our member list. It’s that simple. Once you are on the member list you will receive an E-zine monthly to let you know what we’ve been working on, highlight a Responder or a tip one of our Responders may have sent in. Make sure you include the following:

  • Name:
  • Address:
  • Town, State, Zip Code:
  • County:
  • Home phone #:
  • Cell #
  • E-Mail:

There are many jobs to be filled. Some of them are:

Convention Communication: If you are attending a Convention, and would like to be of help, let us know. If we need someone to represent and give out RNR information, you might be the person to call.

Fundraising: Gather together your Alley and others around you to hold a fundraising event. Have a great Community Outreach and collect funds for our organization.

Weather and media: You are the eyes and ears for all of RNR. If you hear of a weather situation, let us know and we will post the information on the” Forum”

Liaison: someone to send out the monthly e-zines to our members who do not have computer access each month via the U.S. Postal Service.

Our members come from all walks of life. They each have something unique to offer. If you are in a business that can be of assistance to RNR in some way, please let us know. Once we have your contact information you will receive a membership card in the mail. Then go to our website often to see if there are updates. You can also click on the “Forum” on our site to find other members in your area that you may want to brainstorm with. As we grow and more positions become needed, we will make announcements in the E-Zine and on our website. If you are a person who likes involvement, we are the organization for you.

WHAT IS A RESPONDER

We are all Responders as we try in many positions to help those during a very difficult time of their lives. Each person’s job is important and needed to help us work to our best. Whether a crisis hits your area or happens anywhere in our United States, we ALL play a significant role. There are Responders who contact us as soon as they hear of a disaster in or around their area. This prepares us to contact the various organizations we may be in touch with to see if and when we are needed. When we hear of a disaster, there are Alley Responders who get together to put on a show for their Community. This raises monies and awareness of others in need. There are Responders who contact us to let us know of a need in their State such as a Food and clothing drives, blood drives, shelter openings, or services in an area that are needed. Responders are needed to conduct these drives, sort items, prepare them for shipment and make sure they are shipped to the area in need. Shelter Certified Responders listen intently to find out where they might be needed, too. Sometimes just being there to help hand out blankets or water to the Volunteers or those affected is the most important job we can do at that time. There are no small jobs. Each and every job done by our Responders is important.

SHELTER WORK

Shelter work is not a pre requisite to helping in RNR. It is, however required by other agencies to enter a shelter at any time. If you are interested in performing this type of help, contact your local Chapter of the American Red Cross and ask how to achieve this. Although RNR members are recognized in many chapters across the United States, the managing Administration of each chapter changes quite frequently. Therefore, many Chapters may not have heard of RNR. If you find this is the case with your chapter, take the classes for shelter work and then introduce RNR information to them from our website when you have become a Disaster Assistance Team member.
